Istex Einband

Einband is a thin lace yarn made from 100% Icelandic wool. The yarn has a slightly rough texture but it will soften after the first wash. With this yarn you can knit light and airy shawls, jumpers and accessories with all the good qualities of wool.

Gauge depends on the needles you select, use smaller needles to reach a denser knit, or larger needles for light and airy knits, such as lace shawls. Gauge with 2,5 mm needles: 10 cm = 30 sts; with 4 mm needles: 10 cm = 17 sts; with 6 mm needles: 10 cm = 15 sts.

Washing instructions: Hand wash at 30 °C, lay flat to dry. Wool doesn’t need to be washed very often, mostly it is enough to air the garment outside to freshen it.

Note: The manufacturer recommends making a gauge square before starting a project. Handicrafts made from this yarn can stretch. The final size can be determined only after washing. In order to ensure the correct dimensions of the finished knit, make a gauge swatch. Wash the swatch and dry it according to the yarn care instructions and then measure the gauge.
